Case Study: New Ductless Air Conditioner

Case Study: New Ductless Air Conditioner

About a month ago Harold and Jenny (Names Changed To Protect Privacy) called Novel Care in need of a cooling solution for their Toronto home. They weren’t sure what could be done because of the layout and age of their home, but for our Novel Care technician all signs pointed to a new ductless air conditioner.

A New Ductless Air Conditioner For Harold & Jenny

Harold and Jenny had purchased their home in 2016 during the extremely competitive sellers housing market in Toronto. They had to pay more than they wanted to, but this was going to be their forever home. They bought their home with the intention of doing some renovations on their own in order to save money and make some upgrades, but there were a few things that they couldn’t afford to do, such as replace the boiler with a furnace.

The house didn’t have any existing duct work, which means it didn’t have a central air conditioner or a furnace and had a boiler for heating. Installing ductwork and a central air conditioner was going to be very expensive, and not the type of work they could do on their own. Luckily, the boiler that came with the house was only a few years old and their home was small enough that only a few ductless air conditioners would be necessary to provide even cooling throughout the hot summer months.

An Open Concept Is Perfect For A New Ductless Air Conditioner

Like most people who renovate smaller Toronto homes, Harold and Jenny wanted to maximize their space and created an open concept design for their main floor. This is ideal for installing a new ductless air conditioner because the cool air would spread freely throughout the entire floor, eliminating the need for an additional new ductless air conditioner.

It Started With A Phone Call To Novel Care

Harold and Jenny called Novel Care and described their situation. A Novel Care technician came to their home and took at look at their newly renovated home. They had heard of ductless air conditioners, but didn’t know much about them. Our Novel Care technician described how a new ductless air conditioner would work in their home and that it made the most sense considering their situation.

An Efficient & Reliably New Ductless Air Conditioner

Our Novel Care technician recommended a high-efficiency ductless air conditioner for their main floor and another for their hallway upstairs hear the bedrooms. Since the layout of the bedroom area was so tight each room didn’t need its own unit, and one unit would save a lot of money up front as well in the long-term.

Novel Care offered multiple high-efficiency options for their new ductless air conditioner, and then provided Harold and Jenny with a free estimate once a unit was selected.

The installation was fairly easy and Harold and Jenny had a new ductless air conditioner on their main floor and in their upper floor just in time for summer. Best of all, our Novel Care technician kept costs within their budget and ensured they were informed all the way through the process.
